Mel
Manager, Designated Safeguarding lead & SENDCO
I joined Wye Under Fives in 2023 as Manager and SENDCo. I have worked in pre-schools for 9 years and I have worked with many SEN children over those years, finding it incredibly rewarding. I passionately believe all children should be offered the same opportunities and it is our job to ensure they can access those with any support we can offer. My favourite activities at preschool involve all the mess! I love how every day brings new discoveries in a young person’s world. I am pleased to be a part of such a wonderful team who truly care about the well-being and development of the children we work with.
Becky
Deputy Manager
I have worked in childcare for around 17 years. I have a variety of experience working as a nursery practitioner, a nanny, teaching assistant, healthcare assistant with terminally ill children and a SENDCo in a preschool. I love to see children develop – every day is different which I enjoy.
Lisa
Senior Early Years Practitioner
I joined Wye Under Fives in 2011, first working in the toddler group, then joining the pre-school. I am passionate about playing and the importance of this in our development (both for children and adults!). I feel privileged to work with children and indulge their curiosity of the world around them, and I love to indulge and develop the children’s creative sides within the pre-school.
Tracy
Senior Early Years Practitioner
I started working at Wye Under Fives in 1996. Within Early Years I have had the opportunity to gain lots of experience of different children and what keeps them interested and I enjoy watching them grow and discover. I have seen a lot of changes within the setting and the area I work in and I have always been proud of the fact that we are a very caring pre-school, supporting children and their families to the best of our ability.
Helen
Early Years Practitioner
I joined Wye Under Fives in June 2023. I love working with children because they make every day a different day. The joy on a child’s face when they have accomplished something is the best. Knowing you have helped them with that is such a good feeling. My favourite area to work in with the children is the Arts and Crafts – I love to see what they come up with.
Jess
Early Years Practitioner
I started working at Wye Under Fives in February 2023 – I love working with children and seeing them learn and grow. I have previously worked in care as a support worker for adults with learning disabilities.
Laura
Early Years Worker
I run our weekly parent and toddler group and support the team in the pre-school.
Jackie
Finance Officer
I joined Wye Under Fives in 2016, my main role is providing financial and admin support for the team and our trustee committee.
Our Trustee Commitee
Wye Under Fives is a registered Charity. This means that the running of our pre-school is supported by our volunteer Trustee Committee.
Our committee is responsible for ensuring that the charity complies with the rules in its constitution, charity law, and any other relevant regulations that govern the work of the pre-school.
The Committee also help organise fundraising events throughout the year. Past events include a Christmas Bazaar, a Quiz, Cake Sales, and Summer Picnic. Any fundraising proceeds raised are used to purchase new equipment and toys for the children.
We would always welcome new members to the committee, whether you can only help with the fundraising or wish to become a full trustee member, its a great way to support your pre-school. Please speak to a member of your committee if you are interested in volunteering or you can email them directly at committee@wyeunderfives.co.uk
All of our committee have been DBS checked and have been verified as suitable to hold a trustee position by Ofsted.
