Our Team

Our Staff

At Wye Under Fives we use the key person approach so every child has an adult that has responsibility for looking after them – considering what they know already and looking to extend their learning, as well as being their main contact at pre-school. All our staff have been DBS checked, and our key worker team have been trained in paediatric first aid, and hold childcare qualifications.

Mel

Manager, Designated Safeguarding lead & SENDCO

I have been working in Early Years for 7 years and I can honestly say that I adore my job. I love working with small children - even on the toughest of days they can make you laugh and everything instantly seems better! I am passionate about ensuring that young children have the opportunity to explore, develop and learn in a safe and fun environment through nurture and play, and I believe every child should be offered this same opportunity regardless of any difficulties they may face. I hope that this shines through in my work every day.

Tracy

Senior Early Years Practitioner

I started working at Wye Under Fives in 1996. This has given me the opportunity to gain lots of experience with different children to learn and understand what keeps them interested. From small world play through to worm hunting, there’s always fun to be had at pre-school. During my years at pre-school I’ve worked with a number of families who’s children have SEN needs and I find it very fulfilling to provide the additional support the children need to achieve their potential.

Lisa

Senior Early Years Practitioner

I joined Wye Under Fives in 2011, first working in the toddler group, then joining the pre-school. I really enjoy extending the children’s play – and I can usually be found setting up role play areas for the children to explore, finding new things for the toy dinosaurs to have in messy play, or growing vegetables with the children in the garden. I really enjoy the amazing conversations the children have with us. Recent conversations have included: where does the water go when it leaves the basin? What is electricity and what does it do? How does food give us energy? Children need information to make sense of the world around them and being an active part of building that knowledge is a real privilege

Our Trustee Commitee

Wye Under Fives is a registered Charity.  This means that the running of our pre-school is supported by our volunteer Trustee Committee.
Our committee is responsible for ensuring that the charity complies with the rules in its constitution, charity law, and any other relevant regulations that govern the work of the pre-school.
The Committee also help organise fundraising events throughout the year.  Past events include a Christmas Bazaar, a Quiz, Cake Sales, and Summer Picnic.  Any fundraising proceeds raised are used to purchase new equipment and toys for the children.
We would always welcome new members to the committee, whether you can only help with the fundraising or wish to become a full trustee member, its a great way to support your pre-school. Please speak to a member of your committee if you are interested in volunteering or you can email them directly at  committee@wyeunderfives.co.uk
All of our committee have been DBS checked and have been verified as suitable to hold a trustee position by Ofsted.
